Chinatown Summer Fair

The Chinatown Summer Fair was two days ago, and it was lots of fun. Every year, it's the same. There's a whole street lined up with stalls selling bootlegged merchandise (come on, Gucci bags aren't supposed to go for $10...) and a HUUUGE bunch of tourists walking around. Combine that with the fact that they almost always choose the hottest day (I swear it's intentional. It has to be...) and you'll be wondering why anyone bothers to go at all.

But there's always a few things about the Chinatown Summer Fair that pulls me back. There's the McDonald's stand where they hand out free stuff, there's the restaurants, there's the activities, and then there's the friends. I would never go to the Summer Fair if none of my friends went. But when you're with your friends, you can turn nothing into something. I'd have to say that even though we didn't do that much, Sunday was one of the highlights of my summer.

It's not the material things that matter, but things like friends. More people should stop spending their days at home playing video games, but go back to the days when summer nights were spent outside, playing games like Red Light, Green Light.
